Dr. Siddiqa Rizvi, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Ann Arbor, Farmington Hills, & Virtual
Hello, my name is Siddiqa Rizvi, and I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, culturally responsive care to individuals across all age ranges, with a special focus on children, adolescents, and women. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where patients feel heard, understood, and empowered in their mental health journey.
My passion for working with children and families began before nursing school, through my experience as an ABA behavioral technician and mentoring young girls at Alternatives for Girls, a women’s shelter in Southwest Detroit. These early experiences shaped my commitment to helping young individuals build confidence, resilience, and emotional well-being.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan–Dearborn, followed by an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Madonna University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Michigan State University, where I specialized as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have clinical experience in inpatient psychiatry at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital and in the emergency department at Ascension Providence Southfield, caring for both medical and psychiatric patients. This background allows me to approach each patient with a well-rounded, thoughtful perspective.
As the daughter of immigrant parents—my mother from the Philippines and my father from Pakistan—I understand how struggles with mental health can often go unspoken due to stigma. I am passionate about creating a welcoming environment for individuals from all backgrounds, especially those who may have felt overlooked or unsupported. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, with the understanding that trauma and emotional challenges can be carried across generations, and that cultural backgrounds and lived experiences are not always easily understood or acknowledged. My goal is to help patients feel comfortable opening up, breaking those cycles, and moving toward healing.
I have a special interest in women’s mental health, including postpartum mood challenges, infertility, pregnancy loss, and major life transitions. As a mother myself, I understand how important it is to feel supported during these times, and I aim to provide care that is both empathetic and empowering.
I believe in working collaboratively with patients and families to create individualized treatment plans that may include patient education, building rapport, and medication management with the incorporation of motivational interviewing. My approach focuses on building trust, strengthening coping skills, and helping each person feel more confident and in control of their mental health.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy cooking and sharing recipes on social media, painting, singing, and traveling. I also cherish spending time with my family, which includes my husband, our baby boy, and our two cats, Milo and Midnight.

Hi! My name is Siddiqa, and I’m a psychiatric nurse practitioner. I help kids, teens, and families with their feelings, thoughts, and mental health.
I know it can be hard to talk about big feelings sometimes, like feeling sad, worried, angry, or confused. My job is to listen, help you understand what you’re going through, and work together to help you feel better.
I love working with kids and families and helping them feel safe, supported, and confident. I want you to feel comfortable being yourself and know that you’re not alone.
I also work closely with parents and caregivers so we can all support you as a team.
Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, painting, singing, and spending time with my family, my baby boy, and my two cats, Milo and Midnight.

What I love most about my profession is building meaningful connections with my patients and creating a safe space where they feel heard and supported. I find it incredibly rewarding to see patients grow, gain confidence, and feel more in control of their mental health over time.

I chose to become a mental health professional because of my upbringing in an immigrant family, where mental health was often stigmatized and not openly discussed. As an Asian and Muslim woman, I saw how many people struggled in silence.
That inspired me to pursue this field so I could help break that stigma and support individuals—especially from minority communities—in feeling comfortable seeking help and prioritizing their mental well-being.
