Olivia (Liv) Lucas, MS, OTR/L

Hi, my name is Liv Lucas and I am an Occupational Therapist with four years of experience supporting developmental delays, fine motor skill development, sensory processing, emotional regulation, and daily living skills (such as feeding, sleep, and toileting).

My approach to therapy is neurodiversity-affirming, family-centered, and focused on helping clients build meaningful, functional skills that support their participation in everyday life. I believe therapy is most effective when we take the time to understand each client and family, their strengths, needs, challenges, and priorities, and work together to create goals that are meaningful to them.

I begin the therapy process by listening to families and learning about what is going well, what feels difficult, and what they would like support with. I then collaborate with families to review assessment findings, identify priorities, and establish individualized goals. Building a trusting relationship is an important part of this process. From there, I combine direct skill development with family collaboration to help clients work toward their goals and support families in carrying those skills over into daily routines.

I place a strong emphasis on identifying strategies that support regulation, participation, and engagement. I value open communication and believe that families are an essential part of the therapeutic process. Through education, collaboration, and practical strategies, I aim to help families feel confident supporting their child's progress beyond therapy sessions.

Above all, I believe therapy should be meaningful, engaging, and enjoyable. I use play and child-led engagement to create opportunities for learning while honoring each child's individual strengths, communication style, sensory needs, and way of experiencing the world.

Making the world a happier and more comfortable place to be is my passion, and Occupational Therapy is one of my favorite ways to do this!
