Muhiba Mehmedovic, MA, CCC-SLP

Director of Speech & Language Therapy Program

Farmington Hills & Virtual‍

Hi, I'm Muhiba, a Speech-Language Pathologist passionate about helping children and families build meaningful communication skills through connection, play, and individualized support.

Throughout my career, I have worked with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children with a wide variety of communication needs, including autism, gestalt language processing, motor speech disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, speech sound disorders, language delays, AAC (augmentative and alternative communication), feeding challenges, and oral-motor differences. My clinical experience includes early intervention, outpatient therapy, private practice, and in-home services.

My approach to therapy is neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based, and child-led. I believe communication exists in many forms, and every child deserves to be supported in a way that honors their unique strengths, interests, sensory needs, and learning style. Rather than focusing solely on compliance or performance, I prioritize building trusting relationships, supporting autonomy, and creating engaging opportunities for authentic communication.

I am particularly passionate about supporting autistic children, gestalt language processors, and minimally speaking children through evidence-informed practices that respect each child's individual communication journey. I enjoy collaborating closely with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure therapy strategies are meaningful, practical, and easily incorporated into everyday routines.

In addition to direct therapy services, I am dedicated to educating and mentoring parents and professionals on neurodiversity-affirming practices and empowering families with tools to support communication beyond the therapy room.

My goal is to help children develop confidence, connection, and functional communication skills while ensuring families feel supported and empowered every step of the way. I believe meaningful progress happens when children feel safe, understood, and celebrated for who they are.

When I'm not working with clients, I enjoy strength training, cooking, spending time outdoors, and continuing to learn about child development, communication, and holistic wellness.
