Kona Mocha
Therapy Dog
Ann Arbor & Virtual
Kona is a 2.5 year old Staffordshire Terrier Mix. She was rescued from the streets of Detroit at two years old. Kona’s temperament is a mix of silly, sweet, and curious. She enjoys meeting people and exploring new places, and prefers for things to go slow-mo... unless you’re playing, then she LOVES to ZOOM! Once you get to know Kona, her personality really shows! She loves to wiggle and crawl on the floor like a worm, and to lay with her belly up for belly rubs! Her overall presence is quiet. She loves to observe and just be close to people.
Kona works in tandem with her mom (and one of Mala’s occupational therapists) Dr. Michelle Speer.

Hi! My name is Kona! I LOVE playing and cuddling. When I first met my mom and dad, I did some OT too! I learned a lot from it, and want to share it with you! I look forward to playing with you and learning new things together! 🐾

I LOVE being around people! It makes me happy just being able to be by you, play with you, and get pets from you! I also love getting treats for cool tricks and being told I’m the bestest girl.

I'm really good at recognizing people's body cues and when their bodies feel big feelings! I received my own types of therapies and learned SO much from them! I want to pass on what I've learned to others, and to spread love and PAWsitivity! 🐾

I really like to observe people! I'm pretty quiet, but I might zoom around for a toy, lay on my belly and ask for belly rubs, or try to find a snack to eat. I've learned a lot about how to regulate my body, use strategies to shift my energy up and down, and how to listen to my body! So I might want to share a few of those things with you, but really snacks and belly rubs sounds good too :)
