Kenny Montemayor, MS, TLLP
psychologist
Farmington Hills & Virtual
Hi, I'm Kenny, and I'm looking forward to working with you!
I understand that seeking therapy can feel like a big step, and I'm here to create a space where you can explore and understand yourself in new ways, while working toward the changes that matter most to you. My approach is rooted in the belief that therapy is fundamentally a collaborative process. I meet you where you are and then figure out where we want to go together. Whether you're navigating relationships, identity questions, life transitions, anxiety, depression, or simply wanting to understand yourself better, I'm here to meet you exactly where you are and follow wherever you want to explore.
I’m a psychotherapist at Mala Child & Family Institute’s Farmington Hills clinic and a doctoral student in clinical psychology at the University of Detroit Mercy. My foundation is in psychodynamic therapy, which means I'm curious about how your experiences, relationships, and patterns connect to help us understand what's happening in your life right now. I also draw from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) strategies when they feel most helpful for what you're working through. While I especially enjoy working with adolescents and young adults, I have experience working with people across all stages of life.
I believe in understanding you as a whole person, not just symptoms or diagnoses, but someone with unique relationships, interests, experiences, and strengths. I'm committed to creating a space where you can show up as you are and work at a pace that feels right for you.
