Katie Bailey, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Farmington Hills & Virtual
My name is Katie Bailey, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have worked in psychiatry and mental health both inpatient and outpatient for the last several years, with a focus on children, adolescents, families, and young adults. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and our miniature dachshund, Cooper. You can often find us outdoors on nature walks, exploring the local zoos and museums, or traveling to warmer climates.
For my background, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and began my nursing career in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. There, I cared for children of all ages who were facing life-threatening illnesses and challenges. During this time, I discovered my passion for mental health and for helping patients and their families navigate these difficult moments.
This passion led me to a position in the inpatient child and adolescent mental health unit, where I worked closely with children, adolescents, and their families. Together, we focused on developing coping strategies, life skills, medication management, symptom management, and more. I cherished this experience and felt that I had found my true calling as a nurse.
Eager to continue my professional growth, I decided to pursue further education and became a Nurse Practitioner. I attended Wayne State University, where I earned my Master of Science in Nursing and became a board-certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
In my role as a Nurse Practitioner, I work with patients of all ages, assisting them through some of the most challenging times in their lives. I am particularly passionate about supporting children, teens, adolescents, and their families, while also helping adults who are facing mental health challenges. I look forward to caring for you and your loved ones!

I like to structure my sessions to be casual and comfortable! I want you as a patient to feel safe to tell me not only the negative things that you are experiencing, but also the positive. We can celebrate your wins together while also solving any ongoing difficulties. Sessions are not just about prescribing medications, but helping you to learn coping skills, distress tolerance, and, most importantly, for you to feel heard, understood, and validated.
