Ghadeer Nasser, LLPC
Limited licensed professional counselor & Certified Clinical Trauma Professional
Farmington Hills, Plymouth, & Virtual
Hi there! My name is Ghadeer. That’s pronounced guh-deer. I’m a trauma-informed therapist, and I’m here to create a space where you or your child can begin to feel safe enough to be truly seen and supported.
As a therapist, I prioritize the relationship I build with the people I work with. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can be honest, imperfect, and fully yourself without having to worry about being judged. I also want it to be a space that is genuinely helpful. I want the people I work with to leave sessions with a better understanding of themselves, new ways of approaching things, or something practical they can take with them.
In sessions with me, you can expect authenticity, curiosity, and collaboration. I don’t see myself as an authority figure in your life. Instead, I see therapy as something we figure out together. I bring my clinical training and experience, and you bring yourself. I think the best work happens when we can put those things together.
Ethical practice is also something I take seriously. I want the people I work with to understand why we’re doing something and feel like they have a voice in the process. I’m thoughtful about boundaries and the responsibility that comes with being invited into someone’s life in this way. For me, creating a sense of safety means being honest, respectful, and mindful of the trust that comes with the therapeutic relationship.
I draw from psychodynamic therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Emotion-Focused Therapy for couples, and mind-body approaches. I’m interested in understanding the bigger picture of what someone is experiencing and how their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and past experiences can all be connected.
I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and have particular interests in anxiety, trauma, chronic pain, nervous system dysregulation, relationships, couples work, emotional regulation, self-esteem, life transitions, and patterns of caring for other people at the expense of yourself. More than anything, I enjoy working with people who are curious about themselves and want to understand themselves a little better.
Outside of work, you can find me trail running, snuggling my perfect Australian Shepherd mix, Atlas, reading, or enjoying a chicken shawarma with extra garlic sauce. I look forward to the opportunity to be a part of this chapter in you or your child’s life!

As a daughter of Iraqi immigrants growing up in Michigan, I grew up not knowing where I fit in. I often felt too "Americanized" for my family who grew up in Iraq and definitely not "Americanized" enough for my peers in school. This left me feeling lost and wishing for a feeling I didn't yet have words for: validated. I know now that my life-long desire to help others was born from this hurt. This is why it is such an honor every single time I am allowed to be a safe landing spot for another person in pain or confusion. Whatever your hurt, it is my mission to help you find relief and understanding.

Sessions with me are dynamic, genuine, focused, sometimes silly, and always welcoming.

Sometimes the bravest and best thing you can do is ask for help. Being a human can be very weird and very scary and all we have is each other. So if you're even thinking about letting someone help you, that is really awesome. Whether it's me or someone else, I hope you get the help you need because you deserve it.
