Fanda Altairi, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Ann Arbor, Plymouth & Virtual
My name is Fanda Altairi, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in psychiatric medication management and individualized, patient-centered care. With over 20 years of nursing experience, I have witnessed firsthand the impact of mental health challenges on patients, families, and communities. These experiences inspired my passion for mental health and my commitment to helping others feel understood, supported, and empowered.
My approach to care is rooted in the belief that every person is unique, with individual experiences, strengths, challenges, and goals. I believe effective treatment begins with listening, building trust, and seeing each person beyond their diagnosis. I collaborate with patients and an interdisciplinary team to develop personalized treatment plans that support their mental health goals and overall well-being.
One of my primary goals is to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. I believe mental health is just as important as physical health, and the two are deeply interconnected. I strive to help patients and families from all backgrounds recognize that seeking mental health care is a sign of strength and that everyone deserves compassionate, respectful, and effective support.
Above all, I want my patients to feel seen, heard, and valued. Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and closest friends. I believe meaningful relationships, connection, and support are essential to well-being, and I carry these values into my practice every day.
