Hi, I’m Caleb!
I am a clinical psychology fellow at Mala Child and Family Institute. I have a long history with Mala, as I have interned here as both an undergraduate and graduate student prior to accepting my current position. For graduate school, I went to Madonna University, known for its focus on the psychodynamic approach.
I believe that providing quality therapy is ultimately more important than sticking to one singular modality. While I have training in psychodynamic, CBT, DBT, and other treatment modalities, I am more committed to finding what works best for you individually rather than sticking strictly to one modality over the other. People are inherently super complex, as we all have our own thoughts, histories, and feelings. As such, what works will vary from person to person! Listening and being receptive to your feelings on the matter is more important than anything else, and together, we will craft a warm and welcoming space for you to grow in.
Therapy is inherently collaborative, and I strive to make you feel as included in the process as possible. I am fully committed to meeting you where you are. There is no pressure to touch on anything that you aren’t yet ready to talk about. On the flip side, if you come in raring to go, then I will meet you there as well! I truly believe there is no singular right way to do therapy, you are much more than your symptoms or a diagnosis, and we will work out what works best for you, together.
I truly believe in Mala and the work that we do here. If you’re interested in working together, I look forward to meeting you soon, and being a supportive part of your mental health journey.

Hi, I’m Caleb! I’m here to help people talk about their feelings. Sometimes dealing with big feelings can be really overwhelming and hard. I’m here to help, and to remind you that you aren’t alone. Together, we can get through times that are hard, learn tools to help us when we have big feelings, and hopefully have some fun along the way.

I decided at a young age to become a mental health professional, as I saw firsthand the struggles that my peers were facing throughout school, and how often these struggles failed to be met with proper support to help them achieve their goals and most positive outcomes. I think that therapy would be a benefit to anyone and everyone, and if I can help other people who truly need help, then that's something I can be proud of.
-
My favorite part about therapy is that it's a space for you to take the time to process events in your life, both major and minor, with the help of someone who is only involved for the sake of helping you do so. In the modern world, it's so important to stay on top of your needs both physical and mental, and therapy is such a vital part of that.
-
That will depend on the client! I have training in several different therapeutic modalities, ranging from psychodynamic to CBT, and everything in between! I will work with you to make sure that this is a place that is both comfortable and effective in meeting the treatment needs you have. The one constant I can guarantee is that my office will always be a place of warmth, acceptance, and empathy, but beyond that, this is your space more than it is mine.
-
I think that the best message I can send to young clients is that it's okay to be confused. You're at such a turbulent time in your life, where a lot of things are changing and you're expected to craft your own identity on top of that. It can get overwhelming, and it's okay to not have all the answers right away. There is, and will always be, more time.
-
I'm really passionate about connecting with nature and the environment. I think that it is important to make sure you have time for the things that you love. I find it incredibly helpful for my own mental health to connect with them regularly, and it's important to make sure you're getting enough vitamin D!
-
My favorite part of working as a clinician is being able to see people make progress. From major breakthroughs to simply leaving in a better mood than what you came in feeling, being able to provide assistance to enable others to achieve their goals is a driving force in my life.
-
Ultimately, I want every client to eventually get to a point where they can find their own version of peace, in whatever form that looks like for them. That might not happen instantly, and it might be a bigger goal for some than others, but it is something I truly wish for every client I'll ever see.
