Ashlee Ward

Hello everyone! My name is Ashlee Ward, and I am truly delighted to be a part of the Mala Child & Family Institute family as the Human Resources Manager. With over a decade of experience in human resources leadership spanning various sectors such as healthcare, nonprofits, multi-state organizations, and consulting, I have had the privilege of engaging in meaningful work that connects people with their potential. My journey has taken me through valuable opportunities as a SHRM candidate and leading initiatives in full-cycle HR management, talent acquisition, employee relations, and strategic policy development. Most recently, I served as the HR Director for a multi-location organization, where I was fortunate to support the development of a workplace culture that emphasizes growth and well-being for everyone.

My heart lies in helping others flourish and advocating for their best selves. I am also an entrepreneur dedicated to health and wellness. With my business, Weights and Cakes, I work as a certified personal trainer, nutritionist, and strength and conditioning coach, guiding individuals to embrace small internal changes that can lead to profound impacts on their physical well-being.

In addition, I am a birth doula. Through my business Balanced Moms, I provide essential resources and support for single and independent mothers during a pivotal and often vulnerable time in their lives. My work is inspired by my own journey as a mother, facing the challenges of pregnancy and emerging with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to advocate for others.

What truly draws me to Mala is the beautiful diversity of its mission: here, I see a space where every facet of my identity can find a home. I am committed to fostering a workplace that uplifts every individual, centers on equity, and honors the full humanity of everyone who works and heals here.
